Jenny and Derek warmly welcome you to our self-catering haven nestled in the picturesque beauty of Betty's Bay. We made the life-changing decision to relocate to this idyllic coastal town 20 years ago, instantly falling in love with its charm and tranquillity. In 2007, we discovered the perfect residence  destined to become Cuckoo's Corner.

Our journey at Cuckoo's Corner began with a vision to create a welcoming retreat that captures the essence of our special spot in Betty's Bay. With the renovations and improvements we have endeavoured to make your stay an enjoyable and comfortable one.

At Cuckoo's Corner, we strive to provide you with an exceptional self-catering experience. Our goal is to make you feel right at home from the moment you step through our doors. With attention to detail we have attempted to create a space that combines comfort, convenience, and natural beauty.
We have strived to maintain the garden in its most natural state, incorporating predominantly indigenous plants endemic to the region. To encourage rainwater absorption and minimize excessive run-off, we have avoided using hard surfacing. This not only aids in reducing heat retention but also ensures a cooler ambiance in the room during the summer.

Whenever feasible, we've utilized the existing structure and finishes, enhancing them with additional insulation to improve comfort and decrease energy consumption.
Our dedication to minimizing environmental impact is evident with the abundance of wildlife, especially birds attracted by the natural habitat within the garden.

Explore the wonders of Betty's Bay, from breathtaking hiking trails to pristine beaches, charming local shops, and a wealth of outdoor activities. Further afield is Hermanus, renowned for its whale watching, restaurants, wine tasting and also the wine routes of Somerset West and Stellenbosch. Return to the tranquillity of Cuckoo's Corner at the end of each day, where you can relax, unwind, and relish the beauty that surrounds you.
